CURTAINS

Cast: David Hyde Pierce (Lt. The plot: Boston 1959. A pre-Broadway cast performs a musical called ROBBIN’ HOOD (a Western musical version of the famous Sherwood Forest legend), at the curtain call the star of the show, an untalented movie actress, dies mysteriously on stage. The producer of the show, Carmen Bernstein, wants to go on with the show, replacing the star with someone who can sing, dance and act. Her choice is Georgia Hendricks, who’s also the lyricist of the musical.
Meanwhile, Police Lieutenant Frack Cioffi, is called in order to resolve the crime and, since it seems everyone involved with the show had a reason to kill its star, decided to quarantine the theatre. But the detective is “is a fervent musical theatre fan, who allows the company to continue rehearsing while he conducts his murder investigation.” At the same time he’ also interested in fixing the show.

CURTAINS was also nominated in the category of Distinguished Production of a Musical at the Drama League Awards.
